This Morning Showbiz Reporter Alison Hammond and professional partner Aljaž Skorjanec became the latest couple to leave Strictly Come Dancing 2014 this evening.
Alison Hammond, who previously entered the Big Brother house, was up against TV Presenter Caroline Flack and her partner Pasha Kovalev in the dance off.
The 10 couples each danced one more time in a bid to impress the viewers on Saturday plus judges Len Goodman, Darcey Bussell, Bruno Tonioli and Craig Revel Horwood to secure a place in next week’s Blackpool extravaganza. The judges’ scores were combined with the results of the viewers’ votes to decide the lowest scoring two couples facing the dance off.
Both couples then performed their routines again; Caroline and Pasha performed their Waltz to ‘Three Times a Lady’ by The Commodores and Alison and Aljaž did their Charleston to ‘Friend like Me’ by Robin Williams, from the film Aladdin in a bid to impress the judges and remain in the competition.
After both couples had danced a second time the judges delivered their verdicts:
Craig chose to save Caroline and Pasha, saying: “One is a fun dance, one is a very serious dance but I have to go for the best dance and that is Caroline and Pasha.”
Darcey agreed with Craig and said: “The couple I would like to save is Caroline and Pasha.”
Bruno also agreed stating he would like to save Caroline and Pasha.
Finally Head Judge Len Goodman added: “I would have agreed with my colleagues and saved Caroline and Pasha.”
Reflecting back on the result of tonight’s show, Alison said: “Caroline smashed it tonight; I want her to go on and get to the final. I’ve had the best time ever and I am still going to Blackpool and I don’t care what anyone says!
I’ve had the best time, thank you judges for all your comments I’ve had an absolute ball. I’d say to anyone who is thinking about doing this show to just go for it and do it, I don’t care what colour you are or what size you are, I’ve loved it.”
To partner Aljaž, Alison said: “From day one when I got you I thought I’d won! Thank you for being so patient and so kind you have been amazing. I really genuinely from the bottom of my heart love you as a friend.”
An emotional Aljaž said to Alison: “I am extremely proud, I can’t describe really how much fun and laughter we had from the very first day and I am definitely going to miss that. I am going to miss you a lot and this definitely won’t be our last dance.”
Strictly Come Dancing will be heading to Blackpool next week at 7.00pm on BBC One and BBC One HD.
