America’s Got Talent finalist Michael Ketterer has been arrested for felony domestic violence, it has been confirmed.
TMZ broke the story that Ketterer was arrested at 3:45 p.m. Thursday afternoon in Hollywood after he and his wife got into an argument and police noticed a red mark on her arm.
Ketterer admitted to the tabloid he and his wife got into a fight at their hotel and police were called. She reportedly did not want to press charges but police arrested him anyway. He was charged and later released after posting $50,000 bail.
The father of six finished in fifth place in Wednesday’s finale, which saw Shin Lim being crowned the winner. He impressed judge Simon Cowell so much that he hit the Golden Buzzer and moved the judge to tears more than once.
Cowell made a plea to country superstar Garth Brooks to write a song for Ketterer and in Wednesday’s finale, Ketterer performed the song. Brooks then invited him to join him and sing at his sold-out concert at Notre Dame.
“We’re going to suit you up with a band. We’re going to put you out in front of 85,000 of the sweetest people you’ve ever played for before, and they’re going to be pulling for you like no other. This is going to be good,” he said.
America’s Got Talent returns for Season 14 next summer and will air a special winter edition early next year. AGT airs on NBC in the US and streams on Netflix in the UK.
