Gotham City is officially coming to the Arrowverse.
The CW officially confirmed on Thursday at the network’s upfronts that the annual crossover event that sees the characters from The Flash, Arrow, Supergirl, and Legends of Tomorrow come together will introduce a new hero: Batwoman.
Arrow star Stephen Amell made the announcement alongside CW president Mark Pedowitz on stage at the presentation.
“This is the first time ever that Batwoman makes a live-action appearance on any screen,” Pedowitz said. He went on to say the City of Gotham will also make its debut and Amell said Batwoman will ‘fight alongside’ the other heroes.
Batwoman first appeared in the DC Comics in 1956 as a love interest for Batman. In 2008, she appeared in the animated series Batman: The Brave and the Bold on the Cartoon Network.
The Arrowverse crossover event will air in December.
