The cake tins are barely washed and it already looks like the BBC are launching a rival to the Great British Bake Off.
The show, which will move to Channel 4 after it’s final series on the Beeb, has already lost both Sue and Mel as well as Mary Berry as a judge… which leaves them free to do something else.
On Thursday the BBC announced that they are developing cookery show The Big Family Cooking Challenge. The show, which currently has a ‘working title’, will see teams cooking up a storm across their whole family.
Judges will visit the families homes to pick out the winners from a series of challenges based on everyday meals.
Donna Clark, Acting Head Of Formats And Features at the BBC said the show would ‘take food competitions in a different direction’.
She said: ‘A passion for food starts in the family kitchen and this format will take us into homes up and down the country where we’ll meet Britain’s most passionate and exciting families of cooks.’
The Big Family Cooking Challenge is currently in pre-production and will air on BBC Two.
