X-Men actor Ben Hardy has revealed he would of always regretted not trying for his dreams if he had stayed on EastEnders.
Since leaving the show the actor has gone on to play Angel in the X-Men film franchise.
Speaking to Fault magazine, Ben said of departing Albert Square for good: “I just left really. “It’s one of those things you’ve got to just get out there to do otherwise I might find myself waking up in 10 years wondering what could have been.”
The actor, who played Peter Beale, also speculated about the future of the X-Men series, saying: “As far as I know, the original X-Men actors will remain in the franchise.
“But I think there is a great young cast in Tye Sheridan, Sophie Turner, Alex Shipp and Lana Condor, who have so much talent to bring to X-Men in the future.”
Speaking about his approach to the role and whether he takes inspiration from Foster’s portrayal of Angel, Ben said: “As the timeline has completely warped and while I did watch X-Men: The Last Stand, I went into playing Angel as a brand new character altogether.
“I’m drawing on Angel’s character as dictated by the script and my own interpretation of him, without worrying too much about past appearances.”
Bryan Singer’s fourth addition in the blockbuster franchise will serve as the sequel to 2014’s X-Men: Days of Future Past, which featured Hugh Jackman, James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence and Nicholas Hoult.
