Big Brother has finally announced it’s long awaited series twist by confirming that there will be TWO houses in Big Brother 2016, and that the two houses will be competing against each other!
After days of taunting and teasing by producers and Big Brother’s Bit On The Side host Rylan Clarke-Neal, Big Brother finally gave fans what they were after and revealed a little more information.
The trailer for Big Brother 2016 contains the words “The Others Are Coming” played backwards and it seems that “The Others” will be members of the second house who will be competing against housemates in the first house for a place in the series.
It is currently unclear how long this twist will last for, or how “The Others” will compete against the main house for housemate status.
Rylan tweeted: “The game is changing… and THE OTHERS are coming. A new set of Housemates will enter a new game. But they won’t be alone. For the first time ever, Big Brother has TWO HOUSES. Neither THE HOUSEMATES nor THE OTHERS are aware that some of them are already connected to each other. And these CONNECTIONS could turn both houses upside down. But what are these CONNECTIONS and how will Big Brother use them to keep everyone on their toes? Welcome to the summer of BRUV!”
Big Brother tweeted: “Our housemates will be unaware of The Others, conspiring to steal their place in the Big Brother House and the £100,000 prize. And neither the housemates or The Others will know that some of them are already connected to each other.”
It was revealed that this years housemates were placed in to hiding earlier in the day so wouldn’t have heard the official announcement.
However, fans have criticised the show as much of this information was already widely reported by the press and housemates are likely to already know the twist, which will kill the surprise.
Some fans have also criticised the “connections” twist, hypothesising that any potential housemates are likely to tell their friends and family that they are going on the show and as such may know who their “connection” may be.
Likewise, many fans are really excited to see what the new twists and turns will look like when it all comes together!
Big Brother returns Tuesday 7th June at 9pm with a live launch special!
