The most former home for reality television in Australia has been reduced to a pile of ash and rubble.
The abandoned Big Brother Australia house has been completely destroyed after a fire ripped through the home on the Gold Coast. Six children aged from 9 to 15 have been arrested after being caught on camera running after the fire started.
Emergency crews were called to the iconic house after 2 pm on Saturday afternoon to contain a fire that police believe had been started intentionally. It took firefighters around two hours to control the blaze but not before they could save the house.
The house at Dreamworld was used for 13 seasons before the show was axed. The show originally aired for Channel Ten before moving to Nine in 2012 with its final ever season airing in 2014.
“It hasn’t been on TV for the past four years but I still get messages from fans asking if it will ever get re-booted,” former show narrator Mike Goldman said.
“It’s really sad for Australians to see.”
