Big Brother Australia rolled on Monday night with Angela making her iconic return to the house and Daniel coming up with a risky plan to get rid of his biggest threats in the game.
The episode kicked off with Big Brother gathering the housemates in the living area. He revealed the bunker on the screen and said one housemate has been living there for the past few days. Angela would then walk through the door, greeted by her fellow housemates apart from Daniel and Zoe.
After an Italian fest and letters from home, the game talk returned. Daniel does not trust Garth and puts a risky plan into motion. He wants to go up for eviction alongside one of his guy friends to ensure Garth goes up and out the door. Meanwhile, Angela has already said she doesn’t trust Garth but wants to use him in the game as her minion.
It was time for the nominations challenge. The housemates had to stack five wooden blocks at one end and pull it only using a piece of ribbon. The first housemate to get their stack across the platform would win. It was a struggle but Zoe would get the job done, winning her second straight challenge.
Zoe felt uncomfortable about Daniel’s risky plan but still did his bidding, nominating Garth, Shane, and Daniel for the chop. Angela felt like this is the moment to get rid of a big threat like Daniel and rallied her troops to see if she can pull off another blindside.
Host Sonia Kruger returned for the eviction. It was in the eviction room that Xavier spoke about Garth’s shady ways in the house, which led to Angela’s exit last week. Angie was stunned by this and the look on her face said it all.
When all of the housemates voted, Sonia revealed Garth was evicted 12-1 as Shane did not get any votes to evict.
“Tensions are high in the Big Brother house,” Garth said after his eviction. “I was this over the top, force to be reckoned with and I think a lot of people were really, really threatened by it. Angela and I had a little pact after meeting each other in the secret bunker. She said she was going to support me.”
Garth did not leave the house without dropping one big bomb. He revealed as he left that he was in the bunker with Angela as she quickly worked to deny it.
“It really does punch you in the guts,” Garth added. “Things change very quickly. There’s going to be a lot of blindsides. I played with great humour and I played tough. If that’s what got me out, then that’s what got me out. I wouldn’t take it back.”
Big Brother airs Sundays, Mondays, and Tuesdays on Channel 7 in Australia.
