Big Brother Australia aired its penultimate episode on Tuesday night as Chad, Daniel, Sophie, and Mat battled it out for a place in Wednesday’s live grand final and a shot at the $230,000 prize.
The episode began with the final four waking up on the 39th and final day inside the house and Big Brother threw the last four a champagne breakfast to celebrate. However, there was one final nominations challenge to be played and Chad was on a bum ankle.

“Everyone knows I’m not the smartest tool in the shop, I can’t count I can’t write I can’t spell, but I’m very street smart and physically strong and I think that’s what’s got me through the whole game,” he said. :I’ve never lied, I’ve never backstabbed, I’ve kept my morals. It’s just something that Mum’s taught me. Mum’s gone through such a hard time and it just motivates me to win it for her so I can be like, ‘Mum, you won’t ever have to stress about money again’”.
The final challenge is a tricky one. The housemates must start at the top of a long track, a ball will be released, and the housemates must then race down the stairs to the end of the track to catch the ball before it drops. Then run back up the stairs to place the ball on the track again, and so on. As the challenge goes on, Big Brother instructs the housemates to add more balls to the track.
This was not an easy challenge, especially for Chad’s ankle. Once the fourth ball was added, Daniel was first out. Sophie mistimed the ball and was out, leaving Chad and Mat. In the end, Chad pulled off the win, securing his spot in the grand final.
Chad also secures Sophie’s spot, meaning the boys are going to be broken up. The guys each make their plea and Sophie gives her input but it’s all up to Chad.
Host Sonia Kruger returned to get the final eviction started. Chad went to the Diary Room to cast his vote and Sonia revealed Mat had been evicted.
“I’ve never achieved anything close to this, ever,” Mat says as he left the house. “I feel like for once in my life, I’ve achieved something. I’ve made my family, Anna so proud. That’s all I wanted to do coming in here, I just wanted people to be proud of me.”
As the final three prepare to leave the house, Sophie wonders what her relationship with Chad will be on the outside, Dan and Chad are looking forward to seeing their loved ones.
Big Brother throws the final three a party with champagne and fireworks outside, giving them one last message.
“For 39 days I have watched your every move,” BB tells them. “You have been tested, you have triumphed. Housemates: It’s pretty damn good.”
Who will win it all? Chad, Sophie, or Daniel?
Big Brother Australia 2020 concludes on Wednesday night LIVE at 7.30 pm on Channel 7 with host Sonia Kruger.
