Big Brother Australia is set to return to Australian screens after five years off air.
TV Black Box reported on Wednesday that a casting call would be underway imminently as well as building a crew for the show. A senior television industry source confirmed the news of a revival to news.com.au.
While it has not been confirmed, the show is rumoured to air on Channel 7, just five years after its final boradcast on Channel 9. The show premiered back on Channel TEN back in 2001 and was axed in July 2008. It was revived four years later by Channel 9 and it ran until 2014.
The show will be produced by Endomol Shine Australia and there are rumours the show may change its format to the North American version. However, nothing, not even its host, has been confirmed.
Sonia Kruger hosted the run on Channel 9 from 2012 to 2014.
Big Brother Australia returns in 2020.
