After two straight seasons of returning players to the Big Brother USA house, it looks like that is all about to change for the show’s 20th season.
Executive Producer Allison Grodner has confirmed that Big Brother 20 will feature a brand new cast, putting the end to speculation of another All-Stars season or past players returning to the game.
In an interview with Gold Derby, Grodner puts to rest the rumours about an All-Stars cast and said the 20th season will have several aspects that will give it a special feel.
“It’s going to be a big season,” she said. “We have a lot planned for this season. I think there are certain expectations from our fans that it’ll be an All-Stars season and all of that and I think we’ve pretty much put that to rest. This will be a brand new cast.”
Show bosses felt the heat from fans last year after Paul Abrahamian was brought back two straight seasons to play. Prior to that, Big Brother US 18 saw four returning players and eventually veteran Nicole Franzel won.
Additionally, it looks like the house will be getting a major makeover after having the same layout for nearly 10 years. And no, it doesn’t sound like it will be a change in wallpaper either.
We are really excited about completely revamping this house,” Grodner said. “Wait till you see it. It’s a whole new thing. It’s spectacular. We are really excited about some new an innovative twists that will help commemorate this twentieth season.”
Big Brother USA returns to CBS for its landmark 20th season later this year.
