Singer Wayne Woodward and danger act Alex Magala became the next two acts to advance to the Britain’s Got Talent final on Saturday, it was announced on Monday.
In Monday’s second live semifinal, nine more acts stepped onto the stage. Some were quite…odd, while others left the judges and viewers in shock.
Alex’s act was so dangerous, it had to be pre-recorded for health and safety reasons. The daredevil was suspended in mid-air after taking one of swords he’d swallowed and tying it to a rope. He climbed a 12-foot high pole – only to nearly lower himself himself on to a bed of turned on drills.
Hosts Ant and Dec went to Simon for comment, but the judge was lost for words.
“What is there to say after that? You were about to puncture yourself a hundred times!” he said. “No one has risked their life more on this show and for that I have to congratulate you.”
Wayne did another classic song, getting praises from all judges. His beautiful rendition earned him the most votes from the public and was the winner of the second semi-final.
Alex and dance act Shannon and Peter had their fate in the judges hands. David Walliams, Alesha Dixon, and Simon Cowell voted for Alex. Amanda was the lone vote to save Shannon and Peter.
The result means Alex joins Wayne as the next two to advance to the final, joining 100 Voices of Gospel and Mel & Jamie.
Britain’s Got Talent continues tonight on ITV with the third live semi-final at 7:30 p.m.
