The grand final of Britain’s Got Talent 2017 was the least watched finale in show history, according to the overnight figures.
An average audience of 8.2 million viewers tuned into the series finale from 7:30pm-10:00pm, down 300,000 from last year’s number that saw 8.5 million people tune in.
The number is surely a disappointing end to what was otherwise a great final and series. The numbers were high for the audition rounds of talent competition, but dipped for the live semifinals.
Elsewhere Take Me Out scored 1.8 million viewers, a series low. Over on BBC One, Doctor Who went up against BGT and brought in 3 million viewers.
Britain’s Got Talent will return to ITV next year for its 12th series.
