CBS took a risk by bringing Celebrity Big Brother to the U.S. for the very first time earlier this year. The risk paid off and now some more celebs are going to be heading to the Big Brother house.
Celebrity Big Brother has been renewed for a second season by the network but they did not specifically say if the three-week run would air during the regular 2018-19 schedule.
Big Brother aired its celebrity version as competition against the Winter Olympics on NBC. The show was the second highest rated show besides the Olympic games with its premiere attracting 7.2 million viewers, the highest rated Big Brother premiere in five years.
Overall, Celebrity Big Brother averaged around five million viewers for the inaugural season of the show. It is unknown when the celebrity version will return to the U.S., but it is the assumption that will be during January or February 2019.
The ‘civilian’ version of Big Brother returns to CBS in June for its 20th season.
