ALERT! Channel 4 is ordering two more series of The Circle for your viewing pleasure.
The broadcaster announced on Monday it has renewed the reality show for a third series and ordered a celebrity edition, both set to air in 2021. However, due to COVID-19, the show will be pre-taped and will not be live for the first time ever on U.K. television.
Studio Lambert confirms production on the show will begin in Salford, Greater Manchester later this year. Emma Willis will return as the host while comedian Sophie Willan will continue to do her voiceover work.
Series two of the show was the highest-rated for the broadcaster among the 16-34 demo and was on All 4’s top 10 shows of the year.
“Since the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic, people around the world have been learning the power of connecting remotely,” executive producer Tim Harcourt said. “Perhaps in the light of this, the new series will resonate even more for audiences as well as offer them the distraction of fun, warmth, and strategy.”
The show will return in early 2021 with a week-long celebrity run before the civilians come in to try and catfish their way to a cool £100,000 prize.
