Is Channel 5 preparing another All-Star series for Celebrity Big Brother this summer? It looks like we could get our wildest cast yet.
According to The Sun, show bosses are prepping for another celebrity All-Star series for their 20th series this summer.
Show bosses are reportedly planning to ‘blow their budget’ and get some of the most explosive celebrities from the Channel 4 and Channel 5 series.
“They’ve seen this series as a bit of a trial and error, but the formula has worked well with viewers,” a source told The Sun. “They’re upping the budget for guests too and will spare no expense to make it the best out of the 20 series.”
The series will reportedly be called ‘Summer Legends’ and could see the return of Jim Davidson, Stephen Bear, Vanessa Feltz, Katie Price, Katie Hopkins and Dappy to name a few.
Ratings for the current series started off slow, but the addition of Kim Woodburn seems to have put a jolt into the show. A series high 2.1 million viewers tuned in last week after security was called into the house.
“The number is up on last year’s figure for the same show and up almost 500,000 viewers week-on-week, securing the show its best numbers since launch night – producers are keen to capitalise on the momentum by lining up and tempting back even bigger names while there’s the hype,” the source added.
Celebrity Big Brother will return in the summer after the civilian series, where pairs will be auditioning.
Celebrity Big Brother airs nightly on Channel 5.
