MMA fighter and UFC champion Chuck Liddell became the first celebrity to be evicted from Celebrity Big Brother USA on Friday night, losing out to Big Time Rush star James Maslow.
The eviction was a shocker after ex-HOH Shannon Elizabeth rallied in the last 24 hours to flip the vote and keep Maslow in, much to the shock of current HOH Keisha Knight Pulliam.
Shannon won the first Power of Veto of the season after correctly spelling “responsibilities”, giving her the longest word with 16 letters. She prompted to not use the veto later in the show.
Host Julie Chen then announced it was time to vote. Brandi, Ariadna, Ross, Metta World Peace, Marissa, Shannon, and Mark voted to evict Chuck and Omarosa was the lone vote to send James home.
Following his eviction, Chuck spoke with Julie and said he was not surprised he was out.
“I think it switched last night some time. I don’t know…I’m not sure what happened exactly,” he said. “But I guess I wasn’t as good as the social kind of game as James was.”
Chuck later confessed he’d need to go home and rewatch the tapes to see what he’d missed also saying he wants to go to Amazing Race with his wife.
Then Julie told him he was the first member of the jury and unlike the civilians, he isn’t getting sequestered. He’ll be able to go home and watch all the episodes.
“For me, it will be really simple. It’s going to be … who was straight with me and who wasn’t,” he said about being in the jury. “If someone plays a great game, I’ll vote for them too. Shannon’s got a good shot. … She’s mentally tough and smart. James has got a shot. I wouldn’t count anyone out.”
With Omarosa and Keisha blindsided, this next Head of Household will be key.
Celebrity Big Brother continues on Sunday night at 8/7c with the next Head of Household competition and nominations.
