ITV have today confirmed Dancing on Ice has been re-commissioned for another series.
The show returned to ITV after a four year hiatus, broadcast live from a brand new home facilitating two state of the art ice rinks at Bovingdon Airfield.
With a revamped judging panel, led by skating legends Torvill and Dean, and the reunion of original presenters Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby, the series has seen viewers fall in love with skating all over again.
The series is so far averaging 7.8 million viewers and a 33% share, up on the equivalent episodes in 2014 by nearly one million viewers and 7 share points, with 16-34 year old viewing up by 23% on the 2014 series.
Siobhan Greene, Head of Entertainment Commissioning, ITV, said “The show’s welcome back has exceeded our expectations and it’s been fantastic to see the audience at home loving it.
The recommission is a no brainer and it’s brilliant for everyone involved to know it’ll be back next year.”
