Aside from returning to her role as Caitlin Snow on The Flash, Danielle Panabaker will be taking on a brand new role when the show returns to The CW for Season 5.
Entertainment Tonight reported on Monday afternoon that the actress will be making her directorial debut for an episode in the upcoming fifth season. The episode and its synopsis are unknown at this time.
“I’m incredibly excited and grateful to be directing my first episode of television, and especially honored that it will be an episode of The Flash,” Panabaker told ET. “Over the past 15 years, I have been lucky to work with many talented directors with a vast array of styles and methods. I have always loved the collaborative process, and my insatiable curiosity has lead me to watch, learn, and absorb as much as I can from those around me.”
The 30-year-old will continue her role as Caitlin Snow and to judge from her tease earlier in the week, the fans will also be treated to a background story into Killer Frost.
“I couldn’t be more thrilled to have the chance to work alongside our extremely talented (and vast) team that works so hard to make each and every episode of the show,” she continued. “I wouldn’t be here without the support of my Flash family, and I am so thankful for this opportunity to continue to grow and challenge myself as an artist.”
Season 5 of The Flash is currently filming in Vancouver and fans will likely see their first clips of the new season this week at San Diego Comic-Con.
The Flash airs on The CW in the US and on Sky One in the UK.
