EastEnders’ executive producer Dominic Treadwell-Collins has admitted that Lucy Beale’s killer could still be “anyone”.
Treadwell-Collins said that every character could still be holding the dark secret – appearing to hint that the murderer doesn’t necessarily have to be on the official suspect list.
Speaking on the story line: “I can’t tell anyone at the moment! We’ve narrowed it down a bit to about 11 people, but it still could be anyone.
We’ve been very firm from the beginning that there are twists and turns all the way through this story. So the betting’s still on – it could still be literally anyone.”
He also revealed when we will find out the killer: “On Thursday, by the end of the second episode – the flashback episode – all will be revealed. And then on the Friday, you find out why.”
Dominic discussed EastEnders recent resurgence: “It used to be that everyone was talking about it and for a while I think people stopped a little bit. But for the last year or so they have been and the frenzy’s built up a bit over the last couple of weeks.
It’s exciting but terrifying at the same time.”
