EastEnders has revealed that Aaron Sidwell is leaving the show with ‘explosive scenes’ planned.
The actor who plays Steven Beale will leave in the summer, but it’s unknown whether he’ll be killed off or be able to return.
A BBC spokesperson confirmed: “Aaron Sidwell is part of one of the big upcoming storylines and we can confirm, following dramatic scenes to be aired later this summer, he will be leaving the show. We wish Aaron all the very best for the future.”
Currently, his storyline focuses around his lies to Lauren Branning (Jacqueline Jossa) telling her he has a brain tumour to keep her with him.
Earlier this week, Max teamed up with Steven to protect his lie that he only has three months to live.
Steven will be pushed to snapping as he’s forced to come clean with his fling Abi Branning (Lorna Fitzgerald).
Aaron made his return to EastEnders in 2016 after an eight-year break.
The Sun are reporting that he may be looking to take part in the West End production of Wicked.
EastEnders airs weeknights on BBC One.
