WARNING: The following article contains spoilers for the latest episode of The Flash titled “Think Fast.” Do not read if you have not seen the episode or read at your own risk.
With just one episode remaining in Season 4 of The Flash, the world is facing a major crisis following the events in “Think Fast.” Not only did DeVoe reveal his true motivation for his enlightenment, he actually succeeded in his plan to start it.
DeVoe (Neil Sandilands) revealed that not only does he want to completely reboot all the minds of humanity but also wants to get rid of everyone’s ability to feel emotion. Why? Because he sees emotion as the root of all conflict.
The episode began with what seemed to be John Diggle (David Ramsey from Arrow) going into A.R.G.U.S. but it was actually DeVoe in shapeshifting form. In one of the most epic opening sequences yet, he manages to get to Fallout, wanting to use him as a ‘battery’ to power up his satellites. He shrinks him down and attempts to put his plan into action but Barry (Grant Gustin) destroys one of the satellites using Amunet’s shards.
Just when Team Flash thought they had delayed DeVoe’s plans, something happened in the final moments of the episode. The Thinker barricaded himself in the lair Reverse Flash used and used the S.T.A.R. Labs satellite to begin his enlightenment as an explosion took place and that is where we sit until the season finale next week.
Elsewhere in Tuesday’s hour, Iris (Candice Patton) and Harry (Tom Cavanagh) tracked down DeVoe’s wife Marlize to try and convince her that her husband has gone too far and needs to help Team Flash. Marlize noticed Harry is already feeling the effects of the enlightenment.
But the biggest reveal of all centered around Caitlin (Danielle Panabaker). After helping Barry momentarily stop DeVoe, she asked Cisco (Carlos Valdes) vibe her to one of her repressed memories from her childhood. That memory revealed that Caitlin was hit by a car and when she looked in a mirror, it revealed Killer Frost. This means her icy alter ego was part of her way before the particle accelerator exploded.
Team Flash will need to stop DeVoe’s enlightenment from taking effect and judging how long its taken Harry to feel the effects, they have a slim window.
The Flash airs Tuesdays on The CW in the U.S.
