The Great British Bake Of is getting longer… by 15 whole minutes on Channel 4.
The new home of the hit baking show has revealed the transmission length has been increased, and well it doesn’t take much to guess why.
It seems the extra time has been added to allow for advertising breaks, and meaning the show itself doesn’t have to be cut any shorter.
Channel 4 bought the rights to Bake Off last year, signing a three-year deal with producers Love Productions.
When announcing the signing, they stated there would be no changes to the popular show’s format.
It’s also been revealed today that Jo Brand will also host a spin off, just like on the BBC, on Channel 4.
Great British Bake Off: An Extra Slice will, as before, be sharing exclusive footage and unseen moments from the main show.
“As a completely mediocre baker myself, but lover of all things spongey and tarty, I am really looking forward to another Extra Slice and all the fun and frolics that brings,” Jo said.
The Great British Bake Off will air on Channel 4 later this year.
