Residents in the area have been told to seek shelter from the storm.
A statement revealed: “Seek shelter, preferably indoors and never under trees. Avoid using the telephone during a thunderstorm.”
“This is really bad luck. The production is set up to cope with different kinds of weather but this is fairly extreme.
“The sky turned black and torrential rain interrupted filming.”
The 10 celebrities have said goodbye to their luxurious lifestyles as they embrace jungle life.
I’m A Celebrity 2016 airs tonight at 9PM on ITV.
