James Corden has admitted he has had thoughts about leaving his talk show in America and moving back home to England.
The 40-year-old comedian and talk show host was on The Best of Chris Evans Breakfast Show with Sky podcast and opened up about the uncertainty surrounding his future as host of the CBS talk show.
“For Julie, my wife and I… we’re a long way from home, you know, when we’re doing the show,” Corden says. “And there are people here on this glorious island that we miss every day. And, you know, there are questions [like], where do we want our kids to go to school? There are people getting older. Time is the key. And time with people. And all of those things will be factors, which are far greater than, ‘Do I still want to carry on doing the show or not?’ It’s a greater question than that.”
Corden has hosted the show since 2015 and has one year remaining on his current contract. He went on to say that he would talk to his family before making a final decision but seemed to hint he’d go a few more years.
“It would be for a few years,” he said. “My hunch is that we’ll continue to do it for a while.”
The Late Late Show with James Corden airs weeknights at 12:35a/11:35p on CBS in the US and is available on Sky’s on-demand service in the UK.
