Keke Palmer will lead the cast for the reboot third season of Scream on MTV, the network officially announced on Wednesday.
Palmer will play Kym, social activist who finds herself along with her friends being hunted down by the new killer. However, she flips the script as she tries to unmask the killer and stay alive at any cost.
The 24-year-old will be starring on the upcoming season of Berlin Station on EPIX and most recently starred on Fox’s Scream Queens for two seasons before its cancellation.
Palmer will lead the cast which includes RJ Cyler, Jessica Sula, Giorgia Whigham, Giullian Yao Gioiello, and Tyga.
Cyler will star as Deion, a star running back for the high school football team, but is the target of the masked killer. He is best known for his roles in Me and Earl and the Dying Girl and Power Rangers.
Sula plays Deion’s love interest. Her character is a member of the cheer squad and a honor roll student. Sula is best known for her role in the British television series Skins.
Whigham comes to the slasher series fresh off the Netflix hit 13 Reasons Why. She will play Beth, a Goth girl and a local tattoo artist. She will take Noah’s spot as the one with all the horror movie knowledge.
Gioiello is also joining the MTV series from Netflix after starring in Julie’s Greenroom. The 24-year-old actor will play Manny, a openly gay and loyal friend.
The third season of Scream will be six episodes long and filmed in Atlanta, airing over a three night event.
Season three of Scream returns to MTV in the new year.
