Louis Walsh and Nicole Scherzinger are set to return to The X Factor for the third time as the show plans yet another revamp.
According to The Sun, Louis and Nicole are in ‘advanced discussions’ with Simon Cowell about making a return to the judging panel after being axed for the last series, which featured Louis Tomlinson, Robbie Williams, and Ayda Field.
It is also being reported the judging panel will be slashed from four to three, just like the original series was. This time, the trio will be judging celebrities as the famous faces will compete for a recording contract.
Some of the names linked to the show include Gemma Collins, Britain’s Got Talent judge Amanda Holden, Megan McKenna, Caroline Flack, and John Barrowman.
Cowell is hoping to recreate the magic from the older generation of the show as he cuts the judging panel and fixes the editing format to return the show back to its roots. It was reported that Danni Minogue was considered but wasn’t approached.
Both Louis and Nicole have remained close with Simon over the years despite being axed from the show twice. Louis is a judge on Ireland’s Got Talent, while Nicole was just made a judge on Australia’s Got Talent and The Masked Singer in the US.
The X Factor returns to ITV this autumn with a celebrity version as well as an All-Star edition.
