Magician Shin Lim has been crowned the winner of America’s Got Talent: The Champions, beating out young ventriloquist Darci Lynne in the final result.
Monday’s finale saw the final acts come together to deliver some epic performances without the threat of competition. Deadly Games performed their dangerous knife throwing routine with music from Spain’s Got Talent winner Cristina Ramos and AGT’s Brian Justin Crum.
Brooklyn 99’s Melissa Fumero made an appearance and performed with Shin Lim and The Clairvoyants performed an illusion with judge Howie Mandel that had everyone wondering just how they manage to pull off these stunts.
After everyone had performed, host Terry Crews returned with the big result and revealed the top five. He announced Darci, Shin, Preacher Lawson, Cristina Ramos, and Kseniya Simonova as the top five before revealing Darci and Shin as the top two. After a break, Lim was announced as the winner.
Britain’s Got Talent series one winner Paul Potts and series three finalist Susan Boyle failed to make the top five in the final vote.
The 27-year-old magician collapsed to the ground in shock after earning his second win in less than a month at the time of this taping.
“I’m speechless,” Lim told Crews after this win. “I have to say thank you and follow your dreams.”
The end of the spin-off marked the end of Mel B and Heidi Klum on the judging panel. They will be replaced by Julianne Hough and Gabrielle Union for Season 14.
America’s Got Talent returns in the summer for Season 14 on NBC in the US and streams on Netflix in the UK.
