It looks like there is trouble in the ballroom. Maks Chmerkovskiy and Vanessa Lachey’s partnership is ‘not going well’ and they are feuding behind the scenes.
Before Monday night’s show, co-host Erin Andrews revealed Maks would not be dancing with Vanessa due to what the show called a ‘personal issue.’
“Maks is dealing with a personal issue so Alan is stepping in and dancing with Vanessa tonight,” Andrews said.
Reports say Maks and Vanessa have not gotten along since the first week of the competition and the professional dancer did not dance with his celebrity partner due to a “personality conflict.”
“There is a lot of fighting going on behind the scenes,” a source told E! News. “Their personalities are very similar so they disagree about everything. They refuse to give into one another. They’re playing nice for the cameras but both are miserable paired with each other.”
A pre-packaged video of the pair rehearsing was not shown in Monday’s episode. The source said Maks refused to show up to work with Vanessa, but she showed up to practice anyway.
This is not the first time Chmerkovskiy has been feuding with his partners. He previously clashed with Hope Solo in Season 13 and took a four season break once it had concluded.
Despite the feud, it looks like the pair will be back to perform next week.
“Maks and Vanessa are returning to rehearsals and will be dancing together on next week’s show,” a show spokesperson said.
The 37-year-old professional dancer confirmed the news with a tweet:

Vanessa responded with an Instagram post saying she can’t wait to work with Maks on their upcoming routine. However, sources claim that the former TRL host is only saying that to win over viewers.
Their issues off camera have not affected their scores as the pair have been in the top half of the leaderboard for the past three weeks.
Dancing With The Stars airs Monday’s on ABC.
