Popstar Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth have split after being married for less than eight months, it has been confirmed.
Cyrus and Hemsworth were married back in December 2018 after an on and off relationship for 10 years. Rumours of a split surfaced after Cyrus posted a photo of herself on Instagram without her wedding ring.

“Liam and Miley have agreed to separate at this time,” a rep for Cyrus tells PEOPLE in a statement. “Ever-evolving, changing as partners and individuals, they have decided this is what’s best while they both focus on themselves and careers. They still remain dedicated parents to all of the animals they share while lovingly taking this time apart. Please respect their process and privacy.”
Cyrus did an interview earlier this month where she admitted while she was married to Hemsworth, she is still attracted to women. She went on to say she did not find herself to be in the true wife role.
“I don’t know that I would ever publicly allow people in there because it’s so complex, and modern, and new that I don’t think we’re in a place where people would get it,” she said. “I mean, do people really think that I’m at home an a f—ing apron cooking dinner? I’m in a hetero relationship, but I still am very sexually attracted to women.”
Cyrus and Hemsworth met in 2009 and were engaged in 2012. Soon after ended their engagement and broke up a year later before reconnecting in 2012.
