Uh oh, trouble in pop world!
Ex-The Wanted band member Nathan Sykes has slammed George Shelley’s Union J replacement, ex-Stereo Kicks member Casey Johnson, saying he isn’t “good enough” to be in the band.
The normally quiet star said: “If you’re going to replace someone try to find someone better. I don’t think Union J quite succeeded in doing that,”.
“If The Wanted were to replace me, if I was them I’d try to find someone better.”
Casey was announced as the fourth member of Union J after George Shelley was given the boot for his “lack of dedication”.
Sykes told the Metro: “If they did it as badly as Union J I’d find it quite funny.”
However Casey has spoken about his previously band mates before, and didn’t have too many positive things to sat.
“I have always wanted to be in a band, not a choir, ” he told The Sun.
“What I was in before wasn’t like a boyband. Stereo Kicks was more of a choir. There wasn’t really any chemistry. There were a lot of egos.”
Union J unveiled George’s replacement earlier this month after addressing his departure in a joint statement saying “with time, comes change and a difference in aspirations..
“So, as we prepare to go back into the studio to work on new material, George will not be continuing on this journey with us.
George will now be following his own path and career no longer as part of Union J.
