Neighbours is back after its Christmas break and it’s going to be an explosive couple of weeks, with secrets set to unravel.
Sonya Rebecchi receives a very unexpected surprise on the Channel 5 soap next week when she realises that Toadie’s ‘dead’ wife Dee Bliss might still be alive.
Neighbours fans were left with a cliffhanger last month as Toadie’s brother Stonie tipped him off that Dee may have survived their wedding day car crash in 2003.
At the time, Toadie (Ryan Moloney) was dismissive of the idea to investigate but in new scenes he finally decides to pay a private investigator to look into the mystery.
However, Toadie decides not to tell Sonya anything about the Dee search, with 2017 kicking off with Sonya dropping the bombshell that she’s pregnant with Mark’s baby.
When Toadie is later plagued by bad dreams involving Dee, Sonya wrongly assumes that the surrogacy is the reason for his disturbed sleeps.
Sonya tries to make things better by planning a dinner for everyone involved to discuss where they’re at, but trouble brews when she goes rooting in the living room drawers for some research she’s done on surrogacy.
Pulling out a brown envelope, Sonya instead finds a photo of Dee, along with Toadie’s file of information on his late wife.
Backed into a corner – and with Steph and Mark watching on – will Toadie reveal why he’s started paying someone to investigate Dee?
Neighbours announced previously that Madeleine West who played Dee would be returning for a “unmissable guest stint:, providing some answers on what really happened all those years ago when their car went into the water.
Madeleine said in September: “It’s very rare that an actor gets to revisit a character they’ve breathed life into after 13 years, especially one that has been so loved as Dee Bliss was.
“It feels like coming full circle. Neighbours was where I took my first tentative steps into the film and TV industry.
Since then, I’ve been lucky to have a wonderful career over 13 years and I’ve got a family. Now here I am, back again on Ramsay Street.”
Neighbours returns to Channel 5 on Tuesday at 1.45pm and 5.30pm on Channel 5.
