A year after its filming, the viewers finally got to see who won first season of The New Celebrity Apprentice – and the 15th season of the Celebrity Apprentice franchise on Monday night.
The final two of musician Boy George and America Ninja Warrior host Matt Iseman competed for $250,000 prize for their respective charities. For their final task, the final two had to produce a campaign, plan a party, and produce a variety show for the Carnival Corporation.
Despite Boy George having more famous friends, Matt relied on everyday people to help him raise money. The move paid off as Iseman raised $573,000 to Boy George’s $445,000. Boy George had the funner event, but the final decision was down to host Arnold Schwarzenegger.
In the end, the Governor named Matt Iseman the winner of The New Celebrity Apprentice, citing his never give up attitude and hard work throughout the season.
As of now, there is no official word from NBC if the show will return next season. The ratings were down, with just over 4 million viewers and a 1.08 demo rating. However, this is still decent for the network to award a renewal.
On the other hand, NBC seems to want to distance themselves from Donald Trump – and axing the show seems like the best way to do that.
