Hit Police drama No Offence is to return to Channel 4 for a second series!
The fan favourite show, which sees an unorthodox crack team of gobby cops trying to solve cases, is introducing some new famous faces for series two.
Headed up by DI Viv Deering, played by Joanna Scanlan, impulsive and street-smart DC Dinah Kowalska (Elaine Cassidy) and neurotic DS Joy Freers (Alexandra Roach), they’ll be joined by some new names.
The crime drama, from the creator of Shameless, will see some new faces.
Joining the team this season is the younger, hyper aspirational new boss, Detective Superintendent Christine Lickberg (Sarah Solemani) and office manager Gavin (Conor MacNeill) – loved by the guys and hated by the girls on the team.
At their sides in the crumbling Friday Street cop-shop are: unshakeable DC Spike (Will Mellor), maverick Miller (Paul Ritter) and cool PC Stuart (Tom Varey), calm PC Taz (Neet Mohan).
In the first season, the team quickly realised someone was killing Down syndrome girls across Manchester, and, while negotiating different cases, they attempted to solve the case as more girls come into danger.
Joining the new series is mischievous PC Jonah (Ste Johnston) and the force of nature that is PC Tegan (Saira Choudhry), who all go above and beyond the call of duty to get the job done.
In an explosive start to the second series, Deering is thrust head to head against a ferocious and unpredictable matriarch, Nora Attah (Rakie Ayola) and her volatile son Manni (Zachary Momoh), one of Manchester’s most feared crime families – The Attahs.
Viv is determined to broker peace but firebombs rain down thrusting the city back to the dark days of its “Gunchester” past. Viv and the Friday Street squad go all out to bring those responsible to justice and the battle for the streets of Manchester begins…
No Offence returns to Channel 4 in 2017.
