Arrow wrapped up its sixth season with its hero making a decision that will impact the lives around him and change the course of the series moving forward.
Thursday’s finale began with Oliver (Stephen Amell) tracking down Ricardo Diaz (Kirk Acevedo) at the Star City Police Department along with the FBI and the rest of his team. However, there was no Diaz to be found. Following the raid on SCPD, Oliver took off his mask as did the rest of the team, revealing their identities to the FBI.
What exactly was this deal Oliver made with Watson in the last episode?
Oliver then went around making amends with those he had a conflict with over the season. First, was Diggle (David Ramsey) as Oliver apologized for their fight and gave him his own Arrow suit. Next was Rene for their conflict and said he is the man Star City needs and then Dinah was next.
Meanwhile, Anatoly gave a tip to Oliver where Diaz was supposedly hiding out with a group known as the Longbow Hunters. But that was a fake, meaning Diaz now realized the Russian mobster had betrayed him. When Quintin Lance (Paul Blackthorne) got a call from Diaz threatening to kill Earth-2 Laurel (Katie Cassidy) unless Lance got the FBI to leave Star City, Oliver went to talk with Quintin.
Oliver and Lance reminisced about the first time Oliver got arrested and how far their relationship had gone since the first season of the show. Lance met up with Diaz, who would end up shooting him in the stomach as he took a bullet for Laurel.
Team Arrow arrives for the final showdown with Oliver finally confronting Diaz on the roof and cornering him. Diaz tells Oliver that he will have to kill him to stop him from taking over the city. A distraught Laurel says Diaz is right and blasts him with her canary cry, sending him into the ocean.
Lance was taken to the hospital and in surgery. It was finally revealed that Oliver made a deal with the FBI to turn himself in and publically reveal he is the Green Arrow in order to keep his team safe with immunity. It was at the moment the doctor came out to announced Lance had died in surgery. Sara Lance (Caity Lotz) took a moment off the Waverider to be at her father’s side at the tragic time.
As Oliver revealed his true identity on TV as the Green Arrow, he pleaded with his team to carry on the mission to save the city. With a shot of Diggle with the hood, is he going to be in the Green Arrow suit next? It was also revealed an angry Diaz did in fact survive and no doubt he wants the blood of Oliver and Team Arrow.
Season 7 will not see Oliver in jail the entire season, so it means he will have to break out, right? Stephen Amell tweeted his excitement for the new season earlier in the month.

Fans will remember there was supposed to be a Green Arrow movie with the hero escaping from a SuperMax prison. It will be interesting to see if the new showrunner follows the same path.
Arrow returns to The CW for Season 7 in the fall.
