Pop Princess Britney Spears is single after calling time on her relationship with Charlie Ebersol.
The duo had been dating for eight months with Britney even claiming she was happier than ever in a recent interview.
However, Us Weekly has reported that the couple are well and truly over with Britney removing every trace of Charlie from her Instagram account.
The move comes just weeks after the Internet was awash with rumours Charlie was set to pop the question to the Womanizer singer.
Spears has always been unlucky in love. In 2004, she enjoyed a short marriage with childhood friend Jason Alexander of just 55 hours before tying the knot with Kevin Federline later that year – only to get divorced three years later.
After her heavily documented meltdown in 2007 she dusted herself back off and got engaged to Jason Trawick only to call time on the relationship after two years.
Most recently she dated David Lucado but he cheated on her – forcing her to pen multiple break-up songs for her eighth studio album, Britney Jean.
It seems that the star wanted her family close after the news, with the 33-year-old star taking a trip to Kentwood, Louisiana this weekend, opting to fly solo to visit her family.
A source told Us Weekly, the superstar “doesn’t like being alone.”
Britney got together with Ebersol last October, and their relationship quickly turned cute on social media.
They took family vacations with Britney and K-Fed’s sons, and “surprised each other for their respective birthdays in December” before spending Christmas together.
Brit didn’t take long to get back into the dating game, uploading a snap of her and LSU college footballer Harris Beall on her Instagram page, captioning the pic: “Nothing like Louisiana boys,”.
Don’t expect Charlie to spill the details of his fling with Ms Spears either – he reportedly signed a non-disclosure agreement before dating the music legend!
Britney is currently performing at her Vegas Residency at Planet Hollywood, with tickets still available for ‘Britney: Piece of Me ‘ at their official site.
