Paddy Smyth has been crowned the winner of The Circle 2019, taking him the £70,000 prize as the game’s most popular player.
Friday’s live final saw the final five rate each other one last time to see was the most popular. Before that, the finalists met each other face-to-face and discovered that Sammie has actually been James the entire time.
The players were welcomed to the studio as host Emma Willis revealed Tim was voted the viewers’ player, taking home the £30,000 prize. She then revealed Woody finished fifth, while both Tim and Sammie/James placed fourth. This left Georgia and Paddy as Emma announced Paddy was the winner.
“I’m in complete shock,” Paddy said following his win. “I never even thought I’d make it past the first blocking. To come in as a late player and to come in with such insecurities about myself and to know that The Circle accepted me… It’s just insane.”
The result was a bit of a shock as the majority of viewers felt Sammie/James should have been crowned the winner. However, the show took the nation by storm as it had the top two trending topics worldwide on Friday.
