Paula Abdul is set to replace Nicole Scherzinger on the judging panel for the upcoming All Stars edition of The X Factor, it is reported.
According to The Sun, the former American Idol judge was approached by show boss and friend Simon Cowell about doing the show since Nicole has other work commitments and is not available for filming.
“Paula is a close friend of Simon’s and they’ve always kept in touch since working together in America,” a source told the tabloid. Simon feels comfortable sitting next to her and knows they’ll have a laugh and wind each other up, which will make for electric and entertaining viewing.”
The Sun also reports Paula will join judges Louis Walsh and Simon on the panel.
The 57-year-old singer and choreographer was a judge on The X Factor USA but left the show after one season. Recently, she made a guest appearance on America’s Got Talent to surprise her long time friend.
The X Factor: Celebrity begins October 12 on ITV.
