Rak-Su has been crowned the winner of The X Factor 2017 on Sunday, becoming just the second group to ever win the show and is the first ever boy band to take the crown.
After another night of performances from both Rak-Su and Grace Davies, plus some guest performances, it was time to reveal the result.
Host Dermot O’Leary revealed that Rak-Su had gotten more public votes than Grace, thus winning the singing competition.
After winning, group member Jamal Shurland told Dermot: “Thank you everybody who voted for us, I’m speechless, honestly.”
Mentor and winning judge Simon Cowell said: “Congratulations to Grace, and obviously, to you guys, Rak-Su, you are gentlemen, you are stars. And to everyone who voted, thank you.”
Both Grace and Rak-Su sang original songs in the finale, with the group performing ‘Mona Lisa’, the same song they had performed in week two of live shows. Grace sang ‘Nothing But Words’ and ‘Too Young’.
The groups first single will be Dimelo, their own original song. However, this time they will be joined by Wyclef Jean and Naughty Boy.
Group members Myles Stephenson, Jamal Shurland, Mustafa Rahimtulla and Ashley Fongho all thanked their friends and family for the support.
The group will now fly to Los Angeles to work with a Grammy Award winning music producer to write their first ever song after their single Dimelo.
Sounds like they are off to a solid start…
