X Factor contestant Honey G has split opinions ever since appearing on the ITV singing competition.
The rapper, who made it through to the live shows last week, has sent social media crazy with questions about whether her act is a joke, a real person – or if it’s someone else under those sunglasses.
But now, the star has been unmasked as a recruitment manager from Harrow, who boasts a passion for tennis and a master’s degree in management.
The singer is rarely seen on screen without her trademark sunglasses and tracksuits, however they are nowhere to be seen on her LinkedIn profile. Which shows a very professional side to her.
Honey G, real name Anna Gilford is 35, and it has now emerged that she is completely unrecognisable in her day-to-day life.
On the page, she goes on to boast about her achievements in tennis and netball, revealing she competed in both the North American and European Maccabi Games and took home a bronze medal in 1995.
She also lists some of her other interests as windsurfing, skiing and current affairs, and reveals she has a master’s degree in management from UCL. Not bad!
In her day to day life she runs her own recruitment firm.
She has won plenty of praise from clients over her management skills, with one describing her as “one of the most resourceful people I’ve ever had the pleasure to work with”.
He added: “A truly dedicated professional that it’s been a delight to work with.”
As well as her master’s degree, Anna also has bachelor’s degree in Popular Music and Recording from Salford.
Honey G has been a controversial contestant from day one, with many fans angry that acts were sent home over her being selected to go through to judges houses, and then to the live shows.
Some even demanded the show be taken off air, with a petition raising over 3,000 signatures within 12 hours.
Fans gushed on the petition page their anger at the move. Supporter Julie H wrote: “It’s so not right that honey G went through and Samantha didn’t!”
Tracey P added: “The X Factor is a joke and will now be watching the BBC on a Saturday night.”
The X Factor continues Saturday and Sunday on ITV at 8pm.
