Hours after fans watched Ronnie and Roxy Mitchell drown on BBC One soap EastEnders, the channel revealed via Twitter there was a completely different ending filmed.
Yes, for fans of the sisters it’s a chance to see what could have been… via BBC One’s Snapchat channel.
EastEnders tweeted: “Watch an exclusive alternative ending to tonight’s EPIC New Year’s day episode on BBC_One Snapchat right now!”
A few hours later, they revealed the trailer, adding it to their Snapchat story, after a number of annoying teasers from Dot and Jack… (Why?!).

Whilst the ‘ending’ was about 5 seconds long, it did reveal that Ronnie could have survived.
Through dimly lit footage, we saw Ronnie Mitchell screaming as she discovers her sister Roxy’s dead body – rather than both drowning like in the scenes aired.
From the dark shots it looks as if Ronnie found Roxy dead on the pool table, after taking drugs.
Later she’s seen broke down in her wedding dress at the hospital following the loss of her sister.
After all the hype from EastEnders, many fans were left confused and disappointed with the alternative ending, especially as it was actually a trailer – and not a scene.
Fans were frustrated that an ‘alternative ending’ actually ended up being 5 seconds long, plus not really explaining anything…

Alternative ending?? What the hell was the point of that? Just as disappointing as the actual episode! #EastEnders
