RuPaul’s Drag Race star Michelle Visage is the ninth celebrity comfirmed to take part in Strictly Come Dancing 2019, it was announced on Monday morning.
Visage is best known for being a judge on the US version on RuPaul’s Drag Race since its third season and all seasons of the spin-off show RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars. She will also appear on RuPaul’s Drag Race UK, which is set to premiere in October on BBC Three. The 50-year-old finished fifth in Celebrity Big Brother 2015.
“Getting to do Strictly in my favorite place on Earth is an actual DREAM,” Visage said in a statement. “I’m so excited to show that being 50 doesn’t mean life stops. Things may not work like they did when I was 20, but 50 also means ‘FABULOUS!’
“There are plenty of women like me out there who still ‘got it’ and we still ‘plan to use it!’ so slap on the sequins, point me to the dance floor and watch me Paso my Doble!”
Visage is the ninth confirmed celebrity joining David James, comedian Chris Ramsey, EastEnders star Emma Barton, CBBC presenter Karim Zeroua, BBC sports presenter Mike Bushell, soap star Catherine Tyldesley Emma Thynn, and YouTube vlogger Saffron Barker.
Strictly Come Dancing returns to BBC One next month.
