The winner of Britain’s Got Talent: The Champions will get a hefty cash prize thanks to show boss Simon Cowell.
The spinoff show started taping this week and the 59-year-old judge told an act he is doubling the prize fund from £50,000 to £100,000. According to reports, hosts Ant and Dec shocked Simon when they told him how much the winners would get. When asked if he wanted to double it, he said yes.
“Yes, I will,” he said. “It’s a hundred grand everybody.”
Australian comedians The Nelson Twins joked that winning £50,000 would be good for them after they “blown their life savings on a sandwich in Covent Garden.”
Amanda Holden, Alesha Dixon and David Walliams join Cowell on the judging panel as some of the best acts from Got Talent shows around the world come together for the greatest talent battle of all time.
Some of the names rumoured to compete include Paul Potts, Kseniya Simonova, Vicki Barbalak, Lost Voice Guy, and Alex Magala.
Britain’s Got Talent: The Champions airs later this year on ITV.
