The first contestant for the upcoming Strictly Come Dancing series has been confirmed, and it’s journalist Jeremy Vine.
The announcement was made on BBC Radio 2 this morning, with Jeremy confirming the news live from the studio.
Jeremy revealed: “How could I say no to the biggest show in TV? Yes, yes, yes and yes again to the sequins and the Samba! Now I just need to find some dancing shoes and identify my left foot.”
He added: “I am doing it for my two young daughters who jumped behind the sofa when I told them! It seems Dad on Strictly is more scary than Doctor Who!”
Celebrities linked to the new series include Husband and wife TV presenters – Eamon Holmes and Ruth Langford are apparently both wanted for the new series, however Eamon isn’t to keen:
“We’re hoping Ruth will work on Eamonn and persuade him. But so far he’s digging his heels in.”
TV presenter Adrian Chiles has been linked to the new series, with the show being his next move.
Former Playboy Bunny Angie Best is reportedly in talks, she is the mother of Callum Best and ex husband of George Best.
Presenter Carol Kirkwood is also tipped to be taking to BBC show for the sixteenth series.
Strictly Come Dancing returns in Autumn to BBC One.
