Lord Sugar is back and he is not pulling any punches in the boardroom. Wednesday’s premiere of The Apprentice saw 16 new candidates enter the boardroom to try and win the boss’ £250,000 investment.
The boss set the candidates to Cape Town and gave them their first task of putting on tours around the South African city. The team that made the most profit would be the winners and the losing team, one person would be fired.
Lewis Ellis was the Project Manager for the men, who put on an African Safari tour. The women were led by Scarlett Allen-Horton and put on a wine tasting tour. After the day, the teams went back to the boardroom to learn the results.
The women made a total profit of £520.93, while the men earned £476.19 once costs and refunds were taken into consideration. The men had the unfortunate task of facing Lord Sugar in the boardroom.
As PM, Lewis elected to bring back Shahin Hassan and Dean Ahmad to the final boardroom. The three argued amongst each other but Sugar had enough.
“You didn’t sell. It’s as simple as that. It’s with regret that you are fired,” Lord Sugar told Shahin.
With the first candidate fired, Lord Sugar’s search for his next business partner has begun.
The Apprentice airs Wednesday’s at 9pm on BBC One.
