Get ready for more masked celebrities singing on Saturday nights.
The Daily Star is reporting ITV has secured a deal to have The Masked Singer UK return for a second series next year following its breakout success on the network.
“After some high-level meetings, everything was agreed and now a second series is definitely happening next year,” a source told the tabloid. “Everyone at ITV is thrilled The Masked Singer will be back.”
The show made its U.K. debut earlier this month and has been a ratings success for ITV, pulling in a record seven million viewers. The show features masked celebrities performing for the judges and a studio audience with one celeb being eliminated and unmasked every week.
Judges Rita Ora, Ken Jeong, Jonathan Ross, and Davina McCall along with presenter Joel Dommett are all expected to return.
“Producers would ideally like to keep the same line-up and as the show has gone down so well,” the source added. “They’re hoping it won’t be hard to convince them.”
The current series of The Masked Singer UK airs Saturday nights at 7 pm on ITV.
