The auditions for Season 13 of America’s Got Talent entered its third week on Tuesday and it was a 13-year-old singer who impressed enough to earn the Golden Buzzer.
The final act of the night was British teenager Courtney Hadwin. She was extremely shy and nervous before performing her own unique version of Otis Redding’s ‘Hard To Handle’.
The judges compared her voice Rolling Stones frontman Mick Jagger and Janis Joplin. The audition impressed Howie so much, he pressed his Golden Buzzer, sending Courtney straight into the live shows.
“You are not from this era,” Mandel told her. “The only thing I can do for you is give you this.”
And he hit the buzzer.
Fans of The Voice Kids UK will remember Courtney as she made the final but would ultimately lose to eventual winner Jess.
Courtney joins Simon Cowell’s act Michael Kettere and Tyra Banks’ Golden Buzzer act Zurcaroh as the third act straight into the live shows later this summer.
America’s Got Talent airs on NBC in the US and on Netflix in the UK.
