After weeks of blind auditions, battle rounds, and knockouts; The Voice UK finally went live on Saturday. The live semifinal delivered some big-time performances and some very shocking results.
Saturday’s show saw the nine remaining acts battle it out for viewer votes ahead of next weekend’s live final, which will see the winner be crowned.
Before anyone sang, it was revealed that Bethzienna Williams won the lifeline vote and would re-join Team Tom, giving the Welsh coach three singers in the semifinals. The semifinals saw the now 10 artists perform a new song for the coaches and viewers at home.
Following a guest performance from last year’s runner-up Donel Mangena, host Emma Willis returned with the results and they were shockers. She revealed that Bethzienna and Deana Walmsley from Team Tom along with Team Olly’s Jimmy Balito and Molly Hocking advanced to the final.
This meant the bookies favourites Nicole Dennis and Team Tom’s Cedric Neal were eliminated as was Moya, Emmanuel Smith, Nxt Gen, and Emmanuel Smith. This left coaches will.i.am and Jennifer Hudson with no acts remaining in the competition.
The results had fans shocked as many viewers turned to social media to claim the result was fixed and that the public had gotten it wrong.
The Voice UK concludes next Saturday on ITV with the live grand final with host Emma Willis.
