The X Factor is back this Autumn with a brand new set of singing contestants hoping to win the show.
Sharon Osbourne, Nicole Scherzinger and Louis Walsh are back alongside Simon Cowell with Mr Saturday Night himself, Dermot O’Leary, returning as host.
Nicole Scherzinger is back and wants to find a star. “I’m always looking for talent over entertainment. I think real talent speaks for itself and is entertaining on its own.”
As part of the auditions tour, the judges went to Thorpe Park, where Nicole boarded Stealth!
“I think I did it five times in a row, I loved it. I’m an adrenalin junkie and that ride was so much fun. Simon was like a kid at the park, he was so excited and into it.”
“There was one ride called Tidal Wave, there was me, Simon, Louis and Dermot at the front of the water ride. Make sure you see the picture, it’s the greatest picture ever! I’m going to make wallpaper out of it for my bathroom.
Dermot looks like he’s thinking, ‘Oh my gosh, this is happening’, Simon looks cheeky, I look like I’m living my best life and Louis looks like he’s going to barf!”
Nicole also revealed the X Factor jukebox has been axed. “I’m looking forward to not having that jukebox anymore! I don’t want to do it guys. I just want cool, relevant songs that work.
I just don’t want the same things over and over. I’m looking forward to the performances. I love music, you see how excited I genuinely get when my contestants are up there. I’m excited to mentor and work with my contestants and see how far they will get in this competition.”
Nicole also loves the amount of original songs being performed at auditions.
“The other day a contestant, sang an original song that made me cry like a baby and I wanted to buy it right then, I wanted to download it right then and listen to it on repeat. That’s talent.”
The X Factor returns to ITV on Saturday 2nd September and Sunday 3rd September at 8pm.
