VIDEO: Netflix reveal start date for new Queen Elizabeth II drama ‘The Crown’

Netflix is hoping to have another hit on their hands with UK based drama ‘The Crown’.

The show, which stars ex-Doctor Who Matt Smith as the King of England, Prince Philip also sees Claire Foy, last seen as Anne Boleyn in BBC’s Wolf Hall, playing the Queen in the early part of her reign.

The Crown, the most expensive drama ever made by the US streaming company and its first to be made in the UK, will trace the life of the Elizabeth II of the United Kingdom from her wedding in 1947 to the present day.

The show was mostly shot behind the Big Brother house in Elstree Studios, with exclusive sets built for the show.
